First of all how is time flying by and this little girl is already NINE months old?! Can you believe it?! I swear I blinked and we got to this point! She is such a happy baby, and we can’t imagine our lives without her. We still fight over who gets to hold her, feed her, and all things Harper. And I wouldn’t have it any other way! I love sharing updates with you guys and hearing how you relate with your own babes, so here is whats new with chunky girl!

Today I’ve decided to finally open up about my nursing experience with all five of my babies. I know it can be such a touchy subject…as some women can’t breastfeed, some don’t want to and some babies just can’t get the hang of it and so on. But first off I want to say, there is absolutely no right or wrong way to feed your baby!! What you choose for you + your baby is the right choice for you and don’t let anyone or anything tell you otherwise.
To make a long story short I have nursed all five of my babies (from 5 months to 12 months) and all five experiences have been completely different from each other as every baby has come with their own personality and situation. I remember vividly feeling so much pressure with my first to only breastfeed. This ended up being one of the hardest challenges for me as a new mom.
Somehow, as much as I tried to make time stop, Harper is another month old!! How has it already been 4 months?! It honestly feels like it has flown by, yet I can’t imagine life before her sweet spirit joined us! As I’m sure you can tell from all of our pictures, we are all obsessed with her, and think she is the perfect finish to our family!
Since we found out that we were having Harper, I’ve been on the search for a really good recliner. We bought a lazy boy recliner over 10 years ago when we had Hunter, but it was time to finally update after four more babies. I asked you all on Instagram what your favorite rocker + recliners were. Most people said they did nursery gliders, but we knew we wanted one that reclined. Not a huge Lazy Boy and I wanted it to look really modern. I searched for weeks and finally . . .
I’ve been getting a ton of email + questions on how to get your baby on a sleep schedule. I’ve done a few blog posts in the past on our favorite sleep products, and one about sleep training Houston + a few more. But today I thought I’d share just a few of my favorite tips on how to get your baby on a sleep schedule. Now by all means I am no expert but these are just some things I have learned with my five babies…
A friend of ours told us about The Flower Fields down in Carlsbad, and it sounded like the perfect way to get out of the house and enjoy this beautiful spring weather with the kids! You guys! They are so beautiful, and there is so much to see and do! We went with our friends and had a blast! They have a fun playground for the kids, a cute area where they can mine and sift through the sand to find special gems, a gorgeous flower maze and . . .
Happy Tuesday friends! I am so excited to FINALLY share with you Harper’s nursery — just in time to pack it all up for the move in a few weeks – haha!! I was able to co-design the nursery with my dear friend Annalisa owner of Oilo Studio. We did Houston’s nursery together as well. You can see that HERE…
Lately, Houston doesn’t want any help eating whatsoever!! If you’ve seen my IG story, you know exactly what I’m talking about and how messy he is + our current bib situation, haha! I have loved these pouches for on the go and …
I’ve had a ton of you friends ask how I swaddle Harper and my thoughts on the whole swaddle thing. So I decided to share a STEP by STEP of how we have swaddled all of our little people and why we love it!!
So a lot of you have been asking about the new swaddle sack we got for Harper — so I decided to hurry and throw up a quick update for you all. We’ve only used it for a week and so far I’m in love!!! I just ordered the white one in the same size small and if she continues to love it I’ll order the next size up.
I have swaddle ALL my babies from day one…and they all have loved to be swaddled and sleep better. I’ve never used a swaddle sack like this before, but Harper started getting out of her swaddles and waking herself up in the middle of the night. (and trust me – I am a great swaddler!) haha. My parents always die because I swaddle my babies so tight.
Anyway’s so far so good + I just found out you can strap your babe in the stroller on the go with this sack!!! Seriously GAME CHANGER for me!! Harper has been an okay sleeper during the day (better at night) but I’ve had to continually wake her up to take the kids to their activities and every time I’ve just wanted to leave her swaddled and buckle her in so I didn’t have to wake her. NOW – with this swaddler I don’t have to + it’s amazing!!! She’s been staying asleep when I transfer her from the stroller and going back to sleep really quickly once I take her out.
Well I hope that helps answer a bunch or your questions. If you have any more just leave a comment below and I’ll try and answer asap. Thanks again loves!! Plus, if there is a product out there that I should know about or should be using PLEASE let me know!! We’re friends, right? I still can’t believe I hadn’t seen this swaddle sack on anyone else before — or maybe I’m living under a rock. haha.
