Time just seems to keep on flying by lately, and somehow Mother’s Day is just around the corner. I often hear that moms are hard to shop for, but let me let you in on a little secret. I don’t think there is a mom out there that wouldn’t think the best gift in the world is a nap! And maybe some ice cream to top it off. Haha! But in all honesty, Mother’s Day is such a special holiday. Mom’s work so hard day in and day out and it is so fun to take a day to celebrate the mom or mom figure in our lives! So today I’m sharing all of my favorite Mother’s Day Gift Ideas!
Easter is just about here and it has me so excited! It always means Spring is just about here and good weather is coming! Like any holiday, I try to incorporate some fun Easter traditions to make it special for my little people! Since I love hearing what you guys do to celebrate, I thought I’d share some of our favorites, as well as some new ones we are thinking about starting this year!
Spring is in the air and it has me so excited! Finally seeing the sun + the trees start to bloom again is my favorite time of year! I’m learning the hard way that Northern Utah weather is kind of a tease with spring one day and snow the next, but we have high hopes spring will come for real soon! With the weather changing, so are our wardrobes! Since Easter is usually one of the first signs and celebrations of spring, Spring Dresses are usually the first thing we think about! Normally I like to do a roundup of what I’m loving for myself, but since I’ve been getting a lot of requests for kids options too, I thought I’d switch things up and do a roundup of favorite Spring Dresses for the Family!
Time is flying by, and if it means winter is almost over I might just be okay with it! Haha! Spring is one of my very favorite times of year. We can finally start to play outside more, the little people are full swing into all of our favorite sports, and it just feels like such a happy time! For me Easter is always the sign of that new fresh season coming in and it gets me so excited! The aisles of Target are already full of yummy treats + cute finds, so I wanted to share a few of my favorite Easter Basket ideas for all my little people! I’ve broken it down into each of their age groups to make it easy to find some fun options!
With it being Valentines Day, I thought it might be fun to get a little personal and share how Joe and I met! I always love hearing peoples stories and what brought them together. With this being the day we celebrate the ones we love most, I thought it was the perfect time to share ours!
First of all, believe it or not, we actually met when I was 12 years old! Seriously, so crazy and so many years ago. His family moved in down the street from us and we quickly became close friends. The first time I saw him I was actually walking home from school. He was in front of me walking home with his brother. As crazy as it sounds, I had the impression “I am going to marry him” come to my mind. My 12 year old mind could not believe this. I didn’t even know him! I mean he had CURLY hair…this was not ok. Haha! Oh young naive minds. The same impression came to me again on the walk home. I kept it to myself and never told a soul until the day we were married and I told my mom!
When I was growing up, my mom made holidays so special for us. Valentine’s was no exception and one of my favorite days of the year! Every year we would make yummy treats + Valentine’s Cards and package them up for the neighbors. Instead of delivering them like a normal gift, we would doorbell ditch them with the little surprise. We LOVED it and thought it was the best thing ever as kids.
Now fast forward to when we moved to California. I loved the tradition so much I wanted to do it with my little family. We loved it so much but I always thought it was weird nobody ever did the same to us. Yes I was that naive! I had no idea doorbell ditching your friends and neighbors wasn’t the norm! I’ve continued to do it with my kids and they really look forward to it. It is such an easy way to spread a little love around the neighborhood.
Valentine’s Day is almost here and I can’t wait!! I love that this holiday is all about celebrating the people you love. Whether it’s a significant other, your little people, or your favorite girlfriends. It’s such a fun day! As much as I love the typical gifts that tend to go along with this holiday, I thought it would be fun to round up something a little different. I’ve put together a list of the things I think most women would really want. Whether you need some inspiration for you favorite friends, or need to throw some hints your husbands way, I think you’ll love these 5 out of the box gift ideas!
Valentines Day is just a few weeks away! If you’re anything like me it takes about that long to decide what to do for your hubby! Haha! To help us alllll out this year, I rounded up the men in my life and asked them all what they would want. I’m talking Joe, my dad, brother in laws, heck even some of the workers that have been in and out of the house! I’ve rounded up all their suggestions and listed the best Valentines Gift Ideas for Him! The best part is the majority are under $50!
Since Valentines Day is all about celebrating the one you love most, I tried and think of experiences for gifts too, instead of just things. With that in mind, I quizzed the men on this too and here’s what I came up with as my favorites!
This year for New Years Eve we are keeping things pretty simple. In the past we have loved getting together as a family with friends or even planning a date night. In addition to all the craziness with moving, we just want to keep things simple this year. It will probably consist of lots of board games, treats, and movies! To be honest, that is just the way I like it! New Years Eve comes with such a variety of options for things to do. With that in mind, I put together a three of my favorite outfits that would make perfect New Years Eve looks for any event or party.
We are officially in the new house and could not be more excited! It is the best Christmas present we could’ve asked for! As I’ve mentioned here before, we planned on being in the house a lot sooner than how it turned out. With the idea of having family over and spending Thanksgiving + Christmas in our new home, I had big plans for our Christmas Decor!
The first thing I had planned was a new tree in our main room, with all new Christmas decor. I planned on having a beautiful wreath and decorating the banister and mantle to coordinate. I was so excited to have the kids decorate their own tree down in the basement however they wanted. Butttt as you all know, life happens, and things don’t always go according to plan. Moving in just a couple weeks before Christmas had our lives instantly crazy town, and Christmas Decor was put on the back burner.
