One of my go-to wardrobe staples for Summer are dresses! They are a great way to beat the heat and stay comfy! I always get a little bummed when I realize Fall is coming and some of them won’t really work with the cooler weather. That has always bugged me, so I decided to do something about it! I realized with a couple simple steps or additions, you can transition dresses from summer to fall and I love the look! Today I’m sharing those simple steps so you can keep those favorite staples in your rotation a little longer!

… SWITCH YOU SHOES …
One of the easiest steps to transition dresses from summer to fall is simply switch your shoes. In the Summer you typically reach for a fun sandal or slide. When Fall comes around, grab a cute pair of booties instead! They bring a whole new look to the dress but keep your feet warm and cozy at the same time! I love how many fun different color + style options you can find this year so it will be easy to choose a few faves!

… ADD LAYERS …
My other quick and easy tip to transition dresses from summer to fall is to layer. Layering is one of my favorite things about Fall, because it brings such a fun use of texture and depth to your outfit. A fun summer dress can easily go with you to Fall by adding a cute leather jacket or chunky cardigan. If you live in Utah the weather can be a little indecisive, so having the layers gives you the option of going with just the dress when its hot, and adding the jacket when it cools down at night.

As you can see, with a couple quick edits to your outfit, you can transition dress easily! I’m all about keeping my closet full of mostly staple pieces so they can be worn a variety of ways. So being able to carry pieces from Summer to Fall is something I love! What are some of your Fall favorites?!
