Happy Monday everyone!! Summer is in full swing at our house and we are loving it! We are definitely loving the warm weather, all the family activities, sleeping in, and of course all the great excuses to have great food, haha! I’ve also loved all of the darling summer trends that have been out this season. Particularly all of the fun summer sandals! I love the fun bold colors, the basic easy neutrals, and I love the low block heel trend.
I got these wedges this spring and they have been my favorite buy all summer. Honestly, I wear them all the time when going out or wanting to dress up my outfit a bit. They go perfectly with everything and have the cutest look to them! If you’ve seen my Instagram, you know I’m obsessed with these sandal wedges!

Also, today is Amazon Prime Day and I’m working on another post for later today rounding up all the amazing must have sale items!! Our family finally got Amazon Prime earlier this year and have loved it! I don’t know why we didn’t sign up sooner. Amazon has a TON of my favorite fashion brands and so I’m so excited to see what deals they have today! Prime Day starts tonight at 9pm ET time. Can’t wait!
This summer I have been loving the high waist jeans and basic tee combo, plus sandals or wedge. I’ve worn this outfit on repeat a lot already because it’s so comfy! It’s basically my go to summer uniform right now. I told you last week that I was loving all the ruffle tops this summer and did a whole post about my favorites here!
Next week begins the biggest sale of the year – the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!! It’s honestly the game changer of ALLLL sales!! Unlike most sales that are trying to dissolve old products to make room for a new season, the Nordstrom Sale is full of BRAND NEW upcoming styles you don’t want to miss at a clearance prices!
Knowing how to navigate the sale quickly can be tricky, so today I’m sharing four tips on how to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and what I’ve learned over the years to help you get the most bang for your buck!
1: Be ready to shop as early as possible! Since the Nordstrom Sale is full of all new, highly anticipated items, most things sell out fast and never make it to the post-sale full retail price! My biggest piece of advice is….to BECOMEA NORDSTROM CARD HOLDER!! If you’re a Nordstrom Card Holder, you are granted early access to the sale! Yes you read that right…card holders get to start shopping July 13th- 20th.
This year the sale is open to the general public from July 21st- August 6th. Pieces are known to sell out within the first day or two of early access, so it is worth it to get the card!Even if you only use it for the sale, I promise it will be worth it to score those amazing finds in your size before everyone else has a chance! 2: Plan ahead!! I highly recommend making a “wish list” before the sale starts. Be prepared and know what you are in the market for. Since this sale is amazing, you will more than likely find a few extra things you love, but know in advance what your favorite must have items are and shop those first before they sell out! 3: Shop online!! Nordstrom is my absolute favorite place to order online from. Not only is the website extremely user friendly, they also offer Free Shipping + Free Returns. You really can’t lose. The crowds are insanity in store, and can make things hard to find, especially with limited store quantities. Online you can plan your picks, and quickly order first thing in the morning.
4: Be sure to check back here the day of the sale!! I do a huge roundup of all the BEST pieces and price points from the sale, so you don’t have to sift through pages and pages to find the good stuff!! I will have it all broken into categories . . . shoes, dresses, kids, tops, jeans, beauty, etc. So it’ll be really easy to find what you want without you wasting any of your time. You guys, SUMMER is in fulllll swing over here so can I just say, is anyone else already exhausted?! haha. Adding this move in to the mix has really wore me out!! So I guess I forgot how much I don’t like moving!!
Anyways, let’s chat a summer favorite of mine when it comes to style. Dresses are my number one go to! So if I get dressed for the day, which lets be real – doesn’t always happen, chances are it’s going to be a dress! Dresses are a staple piece in my closet every summer for two main reasons.
First of all, and kind of obvious, but you guys summer is HOT!! We have been visiting family in St George so it has been at least 100 degrees every single day! I love that a light summer dress keeps you cool so you aren’t having to pile on any more layers than necessary! I’ve been eyeing this one for awhile.
And finally they are sooo versatile! You can take a simple summer dress and pair it with flip flops or sandals so you can wear it to the park with your kids, grocery shopping, anything! I’m sure you’ve seen me wear this dress a ton. You can take that same summer dress and add heels and jewelry and you are ready for a date or a night out with the girls!
If something can be that comfortable and double as two outfits in one, sign me up!! I get asked all the time what my favorites are so I’ve linked a bunch of them here! I’d love to hear what your favorite summer staples are too!
We finally made it to SLC! Yesterday we made the drive up and have been moving in a two bedroom basement apartment. We might have to send more stuff back to storage because we it’s a tad little – but we’ll see! Haha! We are trying to live really simple for the next couple of months + we basically brought only the necessities. Which so far so good!!
We found out the other day that the house is going to take at least 2-4 weeks longer to finish up then we had planned. It was a bit a bummer but we are trying to find the positive in it all. More time to save more money and more time to live more simply. We are so excited to be up here with my sisters!! It’s been 9 years since we’ve all lived in the same area, so to finally be up here with family is such a blessing!

I’ve been loving and wearing my high waited jeans 24/7 (honestly I haven’t taken them off the past 5 days) with some basic ruffle tees. This one and this one are my current favorites. Plus, who isn’t thrilled about the Nordstrom anniversary sale starting July 13th?!! Best sale of the entire year – for use!! And I just found out Amazon Prime Day is the night of the 10th and all day the 11th. I just became a member a few months ago and it has been a huge game changer!!!

It has definitely been a crazy couple weeks around here. The kids haven’t had much of a summer since the past two weeks we have been packing up. And and basically trying to get ready for the move. I’ve felt guilty, but in my head I have decided to make the next two months full of fun! Since we will be living in a two bedroom apartment (insert craziness here…haha) while our house finishes getting built, I know we will have to get out of the house at least once a day just so we don’t lose our minds, haha!
Soooo I know we are going to need a summer bucket list and one full of fun ideas!! This is where all you brilliant – creative friends come in. Please tell me your favorite summer activities to do with your family. If your in the Draper – SLC area gimme all the places to go! We’d love to hear all your must do activities, water parks, splash pads, and basically anything and everything in between!
On another note, I have been obsessing over the ruffle dress trend. It’s a great basic item with a little bit of flare. I love it because you don’t need to add any extras to your outfit + I like keeping it pretty simple for summer and going out with my kids everyday. I love this dress because its nursing friendly (we are in the midst of trying to ween during the day.. more on that later). But I also love this one too because its lightweight and only $32!! My mom and dad came this week to help with packing up the rest of the house and helping move to Utah (seriously, how is this day already here?!). My dad left yesterday and took the little people with him – while my mom and I stayed back with the baby to help finish up everything.
I’m pretty nervous for the next few weeks as we will be living out of suitcases at my parents house and then we will be moving up to South Jordan in a 2 bedroom rental with alllll seven of us (please pray for us, haha!) I’ve been trying to narrow our closets down to prepare for the next couple weeks. I’m just taking the basics + a few staple items, like a my favorite staple dresses + my most worn jeans and tees. Taking only half our closets is quite the challenge. I’m just trying to think of what we have going on the next two months as far as activities, traveling, starting school and what items we all won’t need.
I’ll still continue to do Instagram round ups every Saturday or Sunday, but if they start looking like the same outfits, you will know why, haha! Also I rounded up some of the best sales going on this weekend below! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Summer is in full swing over here and I’m feeling it with five little people to keep entertained! Ha! It has been so crazy but we have loved being with our friends, going to the pool + so many date nights. So I honestly can’t believe the big move is almost here!
So as soon as summer hits, I start to get excited for one of my favorite holidays, the 4th of July! I love that it is completely focused around being with family + all of the yummy food, fun, + fireworks!! We are extra excited this year because we will be living back in Utah so we will be able to celebrate both the 4th and the 24th with both of our families!

On top of all the celebrations to look forward to, if you know me, you know I love a good chance to dress the whole family up in fun matching outfits! I’ve found some cute red, white + blue picks that I think will be perfect!! But don’t scream cheesy, which can be hard to do sometimes. One of favorite finds this year has got to be these new Freshly Picked Sandals!! You guys they are soo dang cute! I got a pair for Hayden + Houston and we are already obsessed. Freshly Picked Moccs have always been our favorite over here and both Houston + Harper wear them allll the time, so when I saw they launched these new sandals I had to have them!! They are also so stinkin cute and bonus…the buckle is SO easy!! Hayden can do it quick and easily all by herself! Most of all it’s one less pair of shoes to help with when we are trying to get out the door! Which gets a major thumbs up from me!

Lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions like “How do you stay focused with all the little people?” or “What do you do to feel more ready for the day?”. I’m definitely not a pro at all when it comes to this mom gig. But I wanted to share a few simple tips I’ve been trying daily to feel more focused in life! I hope they help you!!
I’ve been trying to regularly go on a morning walk with the babies before it gets too hot. The fresh air feels amazing, and sometimes just getting outside the walls of our home is what we all need to calm down and function a little better! Just being able to have that quiet helps my brain think and organize my to-do list for the day. We have been taking along our new customized Bugaboo Bee5 with the bassinet attachment and it has been amazing. Harper is really into grabbing her little feet and trying to suck on them. She loves being able to stretch out and lay down. I love that it is a little more enclosed with the extendable sun canopy to keep her cozy on the cooler mornings. By the way, isn’t the ruby red sun canopy adorable? It fits my personal style to a T, and helps make our walks a bit more stylish and enjoyable.
Second and probably the most important one, is to slow down and let the kids be kids. If you know me, you know my brain is always thinking of what is left on my to-do list, or all the things I need to do, and I have a hard time being in the moment. I’ve really been trying harder to let Houston take the time on our walks to smell every flower, examine every bug, or collect every leaf he wants. I’ve been trying to say “yes” a little more often when he tries to fill the bassinet with a few of his toys to bring a long for the ride, or enjoy the extra time it takes for him to show off his independence and help me push the stroller. They are growing up so fast and I want to savor every second of their littleness that I can!
The last thing I have been trying (keyword trying**) is to get ready daily. This is a definite work in progress, but I have noticed it’s making such a difference already. I feel like the days I get up before the little people and get ready I get so much more accomplished and feel ready for the day. Getting out of the house more often, just helps the overall feeling in our home. Plus it helps to be a little more happy and prepared for all of life’s curve balls!

I have been dying over high waist jean / mom jean trend lately! Seriously, I just ordered two more pairs cause I can’t get enough! I love love LOVE this dark wash pair from Madewell. One of the many reasons why I love this high waist style so much is that they hold everything in nice + tight. If you’ve had babies you know what I mean. haha. They easily hold in your post pregnancy tummy. This look also makes your legs look WAY longer + over all skinnier which is definite a plus, right?!
