Like most girls, I’m all about any excuse to get a little more dressed up than normal, especially when its for date night! Something about getting all dolled up for your man makes you feel like you are dating again, even if you had to shower off the smell of baby spit up first! Haha!.Just keepin it real over here!
If you know my husband Joe, you know he is as low-key as they come. Date night is one of the only occasions I can convince him to trade the comfy work scrubs for some nice jeans, so every once in awhile I make him skip the burgers + fries…(which I love just as much as him) and go a little fancier with me. I mean who doesn’t love to see their man all decked out?!
With his crazy schedule + love for shopping (ha!), Nordstrom is always our go to! He (lets be honest I) can go online and ask him the things he is willing to give a shot, and with their free shipping and returns we can keep what works and send anything else back.
Now that we are back in Utah we are in need of some new date night spots to try! I want to hear all your favorites from burgers to mini golf! Where do we need to try?! Seriously — you guys always have the best ideas!
A little over a month ago I shared with you all about the AMAZING skin care line I had been using for about three months, TULA and how much I love it!! So I didn’t think it was possible to love the line more. But I’ve recently been using some of the products from their new line, and cannot get enough!

I’m just now finally getting around to writing a house update and am excited to finally share some progress! It has been a long and stressful road but we feel beyond blessed for this opportunity to build in a town that we are excited to be in! It has been so fun living close to my sisters and having parents closer as well. Plus the little people have adjusted so well!! The hardest part has been more just me trying to manage all of our stuff in a two bedroom basement apartment! Our date has been pushed back a few times as we’ve had some hiccups and changes along the way, but in the end we know it will be so worth it!
We are building with Gordon Milar and his son. They are the kindest, most sweetest people ever!! We truly feel like this is where we need to be right now and who we should be building our house with. Everything just fell into place earlier this year. If you are building a custom home in Utah, I couldn’t recommend them more. They are literally taking our dreams and making them a reality and it has been so amazing to see!
Like I mentioned, we’ve had some hiccups along the way! We lost a lot of our framers for the house. So the house had to sit for six weeks as our builder worked to find new ones. Just as we were getting that figured out, we found out the window company lost a few of our windows too! We had to re-order them and that has been a huge setback. But we are still so happy to be working with such a great build team that is handling so much of the stress for us.
The kids are super excited about the house and ask for a house update daily! They beg to go check on the progress as often as possible. They’re learning how much time, dedication, and hard work it takes to build a home. We’ve actually become friends with the workers. They have been so great to take the time and show the kids how different things work.
We have met so many people in our new neighborhood. We can hardly wait to set our roots down, and actually have a place to call home. It still doesn’t feel like real life. We have been moving all over the place for Joe’s schooling for the past 15 years. So to actually say we are done still feels like a dream.
We are hoping to be in by Thanksgiving, but in my head if we are in before Christmas I will be thrilled! It would be the best Christmas present ever!! I’m going to try and do a biweekly house update to show the progress as we go along. Right now I feel like it hasn’t changed much, hence the lack of updates. But we should start seeing a lot more progress in the coming weeks! I am an open book and am completely down for sharing any information and answering any of your questions that you might have, so feel free to ask away!
So it is still pretty warm here, but I am starting to feel the cooler, crisp mornings coming! It’s actually getting me excited for Fall. (I might change my mind once winter comes) haha. The kids are in love with school annnnnnd the bus stop – Houston thinks he can join them + tries to keep up with them every morning with his backpack in hand.
A little house update — the window company lost some of our windows, so that has pushed our deadline back even more now. Our builders, Gordon Milar Construction, feel sooo bad and are trying to find ways around the window delay and moving forward with other things that can be done so that we can hopefully still move in before Thanksgiving.
They have been a dream to work with + they are the nicest people ever!! I don’t feel like there are a ton of pictures to show because the house still kinda looks the same….ya know. I’m planning on sharing images next week, so stay tuned.

I’d love to know who made up the rule that you aren’t suppose to wear white after labor day?! Seriously? If you ask me, I think its pretty funny. I’m never given up my basic white tee for anything, any season or rule – ever. haha. So today I thought it would be fun to share my most worn white items in my closet, and most are under $100!!
I love this white ruffle tee and have it in a couple other colors as well. It’s the perfect basic mixed with a little twist to change up your everyday white t-shirt.
These white pants are one of my all time favorite! If you’ve followed along here for awhile you no without a doubt that I wear my white jeans a ton in the winter as well as in the summer. (now this year being in northern utah…that might be a different story) The high-waisted style with a bit a distressing are my go-to white jeans!
As you all may know, these white tennies are one of my top go-to shoes when I’m on the go. I’ve worn them with just about everything… from dresses to joggers + jeans, you name it! Plus, they are literally so comfy!
And this is one of my favorite “dressy” dresses to wear. I’ve worn this white dress it to Harper’s blessing day, a few temple, weddings, and to church on occasion. I love the girly lace details and the bell sleeves are the perfect touch.

I’ve been getting a lot of emails (since having Harper) asking how life with five little people is. To be honest it’s not much different than four. (but we were already crazy at that point) haha. Things are still crazy + busy. Adding our sweet little Harper has helped us all slow down for a second, and enjoy her sweet spirit.
The older kids have really stepped up and helped out SOOO much since Harper was born. Hunter can fully feed, make a bottle, change bums, and put both babies to bed. If Hudson is there to help – those two have been my lifesavers!! Really I don’t know what I would have done without them. Especially since the first 7 months of Harper’s life we didn’t live by any family.
Hunter has started tending here and there when Joe and I have no way of juggling schedules or are dropping off little people at practices or games. We started out slow and would let her take over responsibilities while we were home. Then slowly let her watch one sleeping baby while I ran to the grocery store or to pick someone up.
I can’t believe how old the kids have gotten. The three of them are now off to school. Hayden is only gone for 2.5 hours. With just two babies at home its been so fun to just enjoy them and watch them start to play together.
It’s bee nice since we moved to Utah as Joe has had more time off than before + he actually gets off early on some days!! We are able to spend more time with him and do more things all together as a family which has filled my cup to the brim!!
The older kids have kept us even more busy since we’ve moved here. Joe and I are always running around and juggling the kids schedules – taking to soccer and football practices, swimming lessons, soccer and football games (that sometimes run at the same time). We try to have one parent to each of their games if possible or I have been able to call my sisters or brother in laws in desperate times.
I feel like I can just get a handle on things for one second and then everything changes again!! Babies stop sleeping, the older people get moody, we change sports or dance, Joe has a really tough/busy month of work or I do and then I feel all lost and crazy. I honestly don’t think anyone ever has it together all the time…we are all just trying to teach our people the right things and enjoy the journey as we go.
I’d love if you’d share any of your tips for trying to keep it all together. OR any struggles you’ve had as a mother. I love this community so much. I am always uplifted and inspired by you all!! It’s comforting to know we are not alone. More than likely someone else has experienced what we are going through. Ah the weekend is finally here and we survived the first week of school! The kids are loving their new school. I’m so happy they are adjusting well. They get to ride the bus which seems to be the most exciting thing in the world. I love that they they look forward to it every morning!
Our house is finally coming along buuuut our date got pushed back to the end of October. (or at least we are hoping) I am loving this weather up here and I’ve been sticking to the basics when it comes to outfits lately. My usual basic t-shirt and jeans have been my go to this week! I’ve also been trying to squeeze in as many dresses before the cold weather hits. Who’s ready for fall?! If you’ve been around here for awhile you know my love for good basics!! I love this outfit so much + it’s no secret as to why this is always my go to outfit. It’s easy to take this outfit from a day to night with just a few easy switches. Just change out your sneakers for heels and add a leather jacket! It’s my all time favorite momiform cause we are always on the go + plans change quite often with our family. This outfit is just one less thing I have to worry about when last minute plans come up.
