Hey friends!! I hope you all had a great weekend with your people. We are here in Utah for spring break + we blessed baby Harper at my parents house on Sunday. I also made a 48 hour trip up to Salt Lake City to check up on our building process, finally meet our builder in person and meet with a ton of subs. We are already trying to pick stuff out and it is crazy.
So my FAVORITE distressed jeans are finally back in stock!! I bought them last year and finally “semi” fit back into them. The sizes are going fast so if you’ve been looking for a pair snag these ones. I can’t wait to share Harpers blessing pictures — because we found the dress I was blessed in as a baby and Harper ended up wearing the same dress!! I was dying. Thanks for always stopping by + for all your support!! Love ya!!
Again, like my last two babies we decided to be induced one week early. My deliveries usually go rather fast and we also wanted to make sure my family would be here for the last baby!! Houston was two weeks early because of my pelvic bone problems, so we didn’t want to risk anything!
My parents drove in the day before Harpers birth, and both of my sisters flew in from SLC later that night. My parents ended up picking up my sisters from the airport and meeting Joe, myself and all the little people at PF Changs for my favorite dinner before baby girl came. We did this same thing the night before Houston’s birth too.
My sisters, mom and I stayed up till one in the morning just talking and catching up with each other. Isn’t that the best thing do to when family is in town?!! All in all it was a really late night for me as I still had to wash my hair + pack a few things. So I didn’t get much sleep the night before – but the few hours that I did get were great!! I slept a lot better this time compared to my other two scheduled inductions. It honestly feels like Christmas Eve to me the night before my babies come so I never sleep because I’m SO excited!!
Joe and I got up and left the house around 6:30 am. My family stayed back and helped get the little people ready and off to school on time. Then my sisters and mom headed to the hospital while my sweet dad stayed to watch Houston.
Joe and I checked in and I got weighed + changed. When we got into the room and the nurse checked me I was already having contractions. I was still dilated to a three. That was a bit of a let down because I had been a three for the last two weeks. My doctor was actually not working that day but teaching a lecture a few floors down. She knew we were scheduled that day and was bound and determined to make sure she was “in the hospital” to delivery my baby. (ps. I just adore her + she is the absolute best ever)!!
The nurses decided to wait before starting Pitocin and instead inserting a pill to help soften my cervix. I think you have to wait at least 2 to 3 hours after the pill to start Pitocin — so I knew there was no way my doctor was going to be there to delivery Harper. My sweet doctor came into check on us about 30 mins before her lecture. She looked over everything and checked me again and decided to take out the pill (which had only been in 15 minutes) and said, “she is going to have this baby before I leave it today.” Mind you this was 9 am and she was leaving around 1ish.
We ended up started pitocin and 5 minutes before my doctor’s lecture she came back and asked if she could break my water? I had just gotten my epidural so it hadn’t had anytime to kick in and I was a bit nervous I would feel some pain, but decided to go for it knowing she wouldn’t be back for at least a few hours. Plus, I knew once my water broke my body would kick into gear and get going (because it’s done this with every delivery) and that Harper would be here soon. So my doctor broke water and said, “I’ll see you in an hour or two.” I still mentally had prepared myself for the worst + a long delivery since Houston’s delivery lasted ALLL day long. You can read about it HERE.
So basically we hung out for about an hour and a half and I started to feel a little bit of pressure but didn’t want to get my hopes up that she was actually coming. I knew that they would be in to check me in about 10 minutes so I just thought I’d wait to say anything until they got there. I mentioned the pressure to my mom just a few minutes before my doctor walked in to check me. She checked me and said, “Okay!! We are having a baby!” I really couldn’t believe it but then at the same time I had prayed she would come fast and smooth like my girls had before.
Then all was calm. As the nurse was setting up she asked my doctor if she needed to grab anyone else. My doctor declined and said, “no we are good”. So it was just the doctor, the nurse and my family in the room. It was so quiet and peaceful. As they were setting up my sister said she saw the baby just come down right then and my doctor asked me to push. I pushed one more time and Harper was here. That’s it it was over.
I honestly was in shock. I had hoped it had lasted a little bit longer! haha. But no, it was perfect and peaceful. She was finally here safe and sound, just like we had prayed for so many nights. Our family was complete and I could feel it with every ounce of my body. All our little people were all here.
I couldn’t have asked for anything more. My mom and sisters were there, my doctor was amazing, we had no complications (like with Houston’s) and Joe and I couldn’t have felt happier or more blessed in the moment. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for sending us this sweet little spirit and for trusting me with her.
Thank you to my very sweet friend Corissa for taking these images!!! Honestly, she has been there for my last three babies and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be there!! Thank you so much for these unforgettable moments that are so priceless to me + joe!!
Today we are GIVING AWAY a Dock a Tot to one of you!! All you have to do is follow @kailee_wright and @dockatot on Instagram and leave a comment here on this post!! That’s it. Winner will be announced Saturday morning on Instagram.
If you’ve followed along for awhile you know our love for the Dock a Tot!! We get asked about the Dock a Tot all the time!! I love this little pod because baby is safe and snuggly all the time. It’s safe for co-sleeping, and you can move it to any room in the house as you go about your day – which is what we do. We have also loved it for traveling and eventually when you go up to the bigger size (the grand) it makes for easy transitioning to the crib. Houston slept in his dock a tot clear until he was one. You can read more about it HERE.
Also my friends at Dock a Tot were kind enough to offer you guys a $10 OFF discount!! Click HERE for the code + I hop you and your babies love it as much as we do — which I’m sure you will!!
It’s been another fun crazy week over here. The past few days have been almost 80 degrees so I’ve been living in dresses and loving it. Plus, all my basic favorites have been on repeat lately: distressed jeans + white tee + chucks. The kids spring break just started today and they are out for TWO full weeks!! So we are headed to Utah to visit family, meet our builder in person and bless baby Harper.
Hey friends!! So I’ve been getting a lot of emails about how we are doing with five little people now and if my schedule since having baby Harper has stayed the same. You can see what our schedule (before baby) looked like HERE + I answered a bunch of questions about motherhood. But to answer your question . . . NO our schedule is not the same!!
Right now our mornings are a lot slower + I end up staying in my robe + pajamas almost half of the day!! After we get the big kids off to school I usually have to nurse the baby again. I feel like that’s all I do is eat and change bums. haha. Between feeding the baby, Houston and myself – it’s a full time job!! I know this phase will not last long so right now I am just embracing it and holding on to every second of this special time with my babies. I remember all to well how fast it goes and honestly I’m not ready to let this phase of life go.
I’m really trying to spend my mornings focused on Houston and giving him the extra one on one attention he needs. Just like holding him (because it seems like I’m always holding the baby) reading to him + we are working on his talking. So basically we hang out in our pajama’s most of the morning. My sweet mom got me these pajamas when I had Harper and I am loved them so much that I ended up snagging these satin pajamas from Nordstrom + my new robe – because let’s just say my last one needed to be replace. If you follow along on my Instagram and you’ve watched my Instagram stories I’m sure you’ve noticed I basically live in my robe, and I’m okay with it!! My family totally makes fun of me and my robe obsession but I don’t even care. haha.
So in short our schedule goes a little like this: feed Houston+ nurse, spend one on one time with Houston, naps for babies, try and pick up + feed myself, nurse again + make lunch, Houston naps and then I finally get out of my pajamas, nurse again and then it’s time to pick up the big kids and nurse again. haha. I honestly don’t mind and know once schools out and the baby is a bit bigger it will all change again. Like it always does. Now tell me some of your schedules and any trips and tricks have worked for you!! I’d love to hear in the comments below.
I rounded up a bunch of my favorite robes + pajama’s below!! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend!!
I’ve had a ton of questions about sleep/training + my favorite sleep products. So I’m excited to finally share my top items when it comes to getting through those first few months of sleepless nights with baby. You can read about our “sleep training” experience with Houston HERE, but for today lets dive right in to some great products!!
These six products I have used through out the last ten years one if not all five little people, and they are all products we love and swear help make night time feedings, diaper changes and more go a bit more smoothly. I hope some are able to help you + your baby our as well. Please let me know if you have anymore questions as I’d be happy to answer anything!!
1. nightgowns – I never used these with my first and I don’t know why? Okay, well I do…because my mom never used them, so of course I didn’t. hmmmm. But once baby #2 came I gave them a try and was hooked!! Nightgowns are a MUST have for night time changes. No snaps or putting little legs in and out + they make for easy access and I feel it doesn’t wake up baby as much during diaper changes.
2. diapercaddy – I love organization, and during the middle of the night is no different for me. I love having everything you need in one spot and ready + easy to grab. I fill our caddy with anything we might need during the night – diapers, burp cloth, wipes, extra nursing pads, binki etc and I make sure it’s stocked before bed. So there is no searching for anything at night.
3. swaddle blankets – I swear by a good swaddled or burritoed baby!! I honestly think this make all the difference with my babies during the night. I feel like it keeps them all secure so their little arms can’t flail around and wake them up. My family makes fun of me, and how tight I wrap my babies – but i know thats why they usually sleep so good is because they stay swaddled. Finding a good swaddling blanket is key!! These ones are great!! They are big, square, and breathable so baby doesn’t get to hot.
4. owlet – Okay this has been the biggest game changer for me personally. The Owlet is a tiny little sock that tracks your baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels. It’s designed to notify you if your baby’s levels fall out of the preset zones. You can read more in depth why I love this little sock HERE. It honestly has helped me to be able to calm down and night and not worry about baby and actually sleep during those few hours baby sleeps.
5. dock a tot – We get asked about the dock a tot all the time!! I love this little pod because baby is safe and snuggly all the time. It’s safe for co-sleeping, you can move it to any room in the house as you go about your day – which is what we do.
Click HERE for the code + I you and your babies love it as much as we do — which I’m sure you will!!
6. sound machine– People ask how Harper sleeps through all the noise with four other little people and my biggest tip is DON’T make your house quiet from the beginning!! You have got to live. During the first week I try to lay the baby down in the front room or wherever all the people are so from day one my babies are used to noise. Days when everyone is gone and and back in school I use a sound machine for the constant noise. I also love them because it does help muffle all the high pitched screams or those loud startling noised that sometimes wake baby. Honestly all of my kids have one in their rooms. Love them!!!
Well I hope this helps!! Let me know if there any other particular posts you’d love to do!! Plus, I’d love to hear any products you can’t live without!!
My favorite go-to outfit right now are slouchy sweaters + ripped jeans. The California weather just can’t make up it’s mind — one day it’s 75 degrees and the next day 55 degrees. So having some transitional pieces have helped me jump back and forth from spring to fall weather. haha.
This amazing sweater is perfect and not too low, which has been hard for me to find. Plus, my favorite white jeans are under $59!! These jeans are super lightweight and the stretch is amazing!! (size down one size because they run big) I Honestly have worn them just about everyday since I bought them. Also, I rounded up a bunch of great sweaters below. Ya know just helpin ya’ll out!
So this week the house has consumed my every minute (that the little people haven’t taken) and I just haven’t had a second to sit down and write out a blog post about whats going on with the whole building – moving thing. Plus, whoever said building a house was fun is crazy!! haha. Hope your all having a fabulous day!! Love ya tons!!

So my last three babies have lived in their Freshly Picked moccs and Hayden and Houston learned to walk in theirs. (cue the tears) So our love for this brand runs deep + the little footprints on the bottom of my babies moccs are priceless. I also love that they STAY on your little peoples feet!! Game changer.
I rounded up a bunch of our favorites below!! Now go tell your bestie about the amazing giveaway!! Love ya!!
I just got my first pair of over the knee boots!! Not sure why it took me so long. I just always thought they weren’t practical with all the little people and of course all the pairs I looked at and loved were over $800!! Crazy. But I finally found a pair I loved that is only $59! I also like these ones that are very similar and these ones are super cute too!!
Of course these aren’t an everyday boot, but they are fun and can totally dress up any outfit. I would definitely wear them for date night or girls night. They are also fun to pair with a dress for church etc. Also why did no one ever tell me that OTK boots would make my legs look 10 times longer?! Haha!! I might of bought them years ago!!
So we’ve been in St. George this weekend going through the Parade of Homes and looking at all of the amazing houses. We’re getting so excited to build and have found some great ideas. You can follow along on Instagram to see some of them.
On another note, here is last weeks Instagram outfits! I love all black outfits because I feel like you can never go wrong + they’re so flattering on everyone!! It’s always my go to outfit. These jeans are amazing + my favorite tee is under $20 and comes in a bunch of different colors!! Happy Sunday!
