Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2016 First Day Favoirtes

Today is the day — the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started this morning!! I’m sure your social media feeds are blowing up with all the excitement + I can’t help but get excited too. I mean it’s the biggest SALE of the year!! BUT I wanted to help you all navigate through this crazy sale, because there is so much to choose from. Last night I spent hours going through Nordstrom’s entire site narrowing down all my must have items + finding all the best deals for you. Below are some of my favorites in each category. Also, make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see a few of my tips to shop smarter!!

You all know that dresses are my most favorite thing ever, and the sale had a ton to choose from.

. . BAGS . .

This is the time I will actually spend more money on a purse then I normally would, and it’s the one time I’ll buy a designer handbag. I always buy a color that can go into any season: from fall, winter, into spring and summer.

. . SHOES . .

You can never go wrong with a great pair of pumps or booties. Last year I had just had Houston and wasn’t ready to buy a ton of clothes because I wasn’t sure when I would lose the baby weight, but I bought a lot of shoes because no matter what size you are at the moment your foot size isn’t going to change!!

We all know when I find a good pair of jeans I wear them weekly — if not every other day!!

. . ACCESSORIES . .

You can’t forget accessories!! They can always complete any outfit or make your daily t-shirt and jeans look so much more put together.

Now is the time to start stocking up on some great items for fall — sweaters and cardigans are a huge staple for me during the cooler months.

. . AFTER BABY MUST HAVES . .

After I had all my babies I lived in shape-wear for the next few months. I swear by the Belly Bandit and Spanx to help your hips go back down. I still love to wear shape-wear sometimes just to help smooth out all the bumps, especially in dresses + it just gives me that extra comfort that I like to have.

Time to talk shopping SMART. Don’t go buy a million things just because it’s on ‘sale’. Go through your closet and look at what you really need. Think of staple pieces, that will last a long time.

Also, shop online (to avoid all the crowds) Nordstrom has FREE SHIPPING + RETURNS so take this huge advantage. Now it’s time to get shopping and stocking up those closets for fall and maybe buying a few gifts for the holidays all on SALE!!

Hey friends!! We are finally back home in Cali and trying to get back to real life. ha. Coming home from vacations can be so hard for me sometimes + I really miss my family that first couple of days back, but we unpacked, cleaned and caught up a little bit yesterday — so I’m feeling a bit better. Anyone else feel like sometimes you need a vacation from your vacation?!

So the BIGGEST sale of the year is just a few days away!! It’s the 2016 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! So this sale is different from any other sale, because it’s not clearance or old merchandise. It’s actually BRAND NEW fall items that haven’t even hit stores yet!! Nordstrom gives you a chance to shop all these new fall trends at a fraction of the price during the sale (see dates below) but then all prices go up August 8th. A lot of great items sale out early like booties, denim, designer bags, floppy hats and more + they always have a great selection of kids, mens and home items!

SALE DATES:

Early Access (for cardholders starts) July 14-21st, 2016.

Public access is from July 22-August 7th, 2016.

I order to shop the Early Access you have to have a Nordstrom Card. You can sign up online HERE. I personally think it is completely worth it to become a card holder – specifically for the sale, because so many items sale out so fast!! This happened to me a few years ago, so I finally decided to get a Nordstrom Card — just so I could shop the Early Access. The great thing is you don’t have to wait for your card to come in the mail. You can apply and start shopping right away with a membership number they give you. It’s super easy.

Last year I had just had Houston, and the sale started a few days after. There was no way I was going into Nordstrom with a newborn + trying on clothes right after having a baby — so I ordered EVERYTHING online!!! (if you just had a baby or are about to make sure you check out THIS POST) Seriously, it is the best way to shop the SALE!! No fighting the crowds, plus with Nordstrom’s free shipping + returns I was able to order a few sizes (in basically everything) because I wasn’t sure how anything was going to fit my new post baby body, and I was able to return anything that didn’t work. AND I never left the house or had to run to the post office. They give you a label, you slap it on, and set your return package outside and the mailman will pick it up!! I don’t think you can get easier then that! You can see all my favorite picks from last year HERE.
