What’s in My Amazon Cart? Round 2

When it comes to quarantine retail therapy, it doesn’t get much better than Amazon! The combination of quick shipping, great pricing, not having to leave your bed, and literally having everything you could dream of (and some things you didn’t even think of!) just makes them the ultimate online shopping destination. I always think it is so fun to hear what girlfriends find and buy on Amazon, so I thought I’d share a roundup of my recent favorites with you today!

:: LEOPARD NIGHTGOWN

One of my favorite recent Amazon finds is this nightgown. I love that it could totally be worn as a dress to if you styled it right! It is so comfy and light for summer and early Fall.

:: DRESSES

My favorite Amazon dress find is the top image in this post! It is so light and comfortable! You can dress it up with nicer sandals, or pair it with sneakers! It comes in 6 different cute prints too! I am also loving a good t-shirt dress like this one paired with sneakers. It is the perfect dress to buy for summer and use for fall. You can layer it with a denim jacket and go with sneakers or boots! I love styling them with cute sneakers and a baseball hat for Hudson’s games

:: JUICER

If you follow along over on Instagram, then you know I have recently started drinking celery juice daily, to help with my overall gut health. Is it good? Not in the slightest. But I am trusting that the benefits will be worth it. This juicer makes it such a breeze that my kids actually do it for me!

If you know me, you know I love a good crewneck sweatshirt basically all year round! I can’t get enough! When I found this one on Amazon I was instantly in love, and bought it in a second color now too! It is insanely comfortable, and looks so cute styled with bikers (also from amazon) or jeans too! Trust me you will want to live in it! And the best part is it is under $25 and comes in 17 colors!!

:: EYE DROPS

Although it isn’t nearly as exciting, one of my favorite Amazon purchases recently was these eye drops!! A friend of mine recommended them and they have been such a game changer for my dry eyes. They instantly get rid of any redness and make you look and feel so much more clear and awake!

:: GRANOLA

If you are in the market for the YUMMIEST granola to add on top of your acai bowl or yogurt, look no further! This is hands down the best I have tried!! I just want to eat it by the handful! You can’t go wrong with the orignal or maple, but my very favorite is the chocolate peanut butter!

Another great fashion find that Hunter has been loving are these belts. They are very simple and classic, but add that little something to your outfit. You can grab them in 9 different color options for under $20!

:: KIDS PAJAMAS

I wish I had a picture of these pajamas to show you but we just got them! That being said we are already so in love with them. They are the perfect soft stretchy material and my kids never want to take them off! And bonus they come in a million colors!

:: SNORKEL MASK

Last but not least of my favorite amazon buys is this snorkel mask we got for Hudson’s birthday! It has been SO much fun for him in the pool! There are always so many toys for the littler kids in the pool but this has been perfect for him. I highly recommend it for your older tween-teen age kids!! We are so excited to use it when we start traveling again too!

The Mom Hack That Will Change Your Life

I think as parents + adults, we all have those things we dread about being the “grown up”. For some of us it is doing the laundry. Others it might be meal planning and cooking dinner. For me it is grocery shopping!! The thought of loading up kids and keeping them contained, all while remembering everything on the list completely stresses out. So when I stumbled upon Walmart Online Grocery AND delivery, I’m not exaggerating when I say it changed my life!! I know it will be such a game changer for too if you aren’t already hooked, so I wanted to share more of the amazing details with you!

:: ORDERING YOUR GROCERIES

I never thought grocery list and stress free could be anywhere near the same sentence, but it is true!! There are lot of different options out there, but by far my favorite and go to for the past 2 years is Walmart Grocery. It is a maybe 3 step process and you are done!! All you have to do is

-Download the App

First up you’ll want to download the app. You can order from the website as well, but this is much more efficient and convenient. I love having the app on my phone, because when I run out of something while making dinner or think of something while I’m out running errands, I can quickly pull it up and add the item to my cart before I forget!

-Add Your Items

Once you have the app downloaded and you’ve created a profile with your closest Walmart selected, you just add the items to your cart, as if you were virtually shopping the store. Everything from produce to diapers and all the in between!

– Schedule Your Time

Now that you’ve got your cart ready to go, and you’ve virtually checked out, you can reserve your time. When I first started using Walmart Grocery I just chose a pick up time and would run over and get them. You stay in your car and they handle loading everything completely contactless. So it was already dreamy to not even have to get myself or the babies ready.

BUT then it got even better!! They added a delivery option and that is where my life was changed! For just $99 a year, you can get UNLIMITED grocery delivery. Everything you need for meals, toiletries, diapers, last minute school supplies, ALL OF THE THINGS right to your door!! I don’t think there has ever been a service that I have used and loved more than this.

And now as if it could not get any better, they have added a new Express delivery service. Think of those times where you realize you are using the last of your baby formula, or down to the last 2-3 diapers! Or driving/flying home from vacation and realizing your fridge is empty and your family is starving. You can now have the option of getting your groceries delivered to your door in 2 hours or less!! We have used it a handful of times already and it has been worth every penny!

Our Key to The Best Summer BBQ + a bbq recipe!

When it comes to Summer, we basically live outside! We cannot get enough of that sunshine and fresh air, and with the addition of the pool it makes things even more fun. If you are like me, the last thing you want to do is come inside from the fun to do dinner. Since that is the case, a lot of our Summer dinners this year have turned into summer bbq’s instead! And we are loving it!! So today I wanted to tell you a little bit more about how we took our BBQ’s to the next level with Traeger, why we were hooked from the first time we used it, and how they turn your everyday BBQ dinner into something way better, all while keeping it super simple! And to prove the simplicity, I’m sharing one of my favorite recipes from Traeger below too!

:: WHY TRAEGER?

First off, let’s talk about our why. My first why is the ease of using it. If you are unfamiliar with a Traeger, it is a wood pellet grill. When I first heard about them, I instantly felt overwhelmed. I am no grill master. Like a lot of couples, I usually left the grilling to Joe, but always felt like we were missing out when he wasn’t home. The best part about Traeger is you don’t have to be a pro! They have basically taken the ease of using your oven and put it outside. All it takes is putting the pellets in, setting the temp, and letting it do its thing.

Our second why is the FLAVOR! Oh my gosh it is unbeatable. It takes the most basic recipes and elevates them to a whole other level. I don’t think we could ever go back because it is just that good!

And last but for sure not least and maybe our favorite thing of all, is how versatile it is. If you were to ask all your girlfriends what their favorite appliance is right now, chances are they are going to say the instant pot. It is easy to use, doesn’t take a lot of prep, and it is so so versatile. Think of the Traeger as part of the same family. It does all the work for you and unlike your average grill, is so versatile. It definitely does not limit itself with BBQ. You can grill, smoke, bake, roast, and probably so much more. My friend Kristin shares some of the most incredible recipes over on her feed that she does all on the Traeger. Yes there is steak and chicken and burgers, but I’m talking desserts + veggies and everything in between. I cannot wait to brave trying all of those too!

:: LET’S TALK FOOD

Now that I’ve shared why our Traeger quickly became a favorite around our house, let’s talk about the good stuff, the actual food!! As I mentioned before Traeger doesn’t limit itself to just getting you your hamburgers or steak, but is so much more. It actually blows my mind and is a little overwhelming when I hear all the things I could potentially make on it! You can check out so many recipe ideas on their site or on their mouth watering IG! We are still rookies, but one of our favorites to make is the Garlic Salmon. I’ve shared the recipe below and cannot wait for you to try it!

:: GARLIC SALMON ::

-INGREDIENTS-

1 (2-3 lb) Salmon Fillet, skin on

Traeger Fin + Feather Rub

1/4 Cup Olive Oil

2 Tablespoons Minced Garlic

1/2 Tablespoon Minced Parsley

Lemon Wedges

-INSTRUCTIONS-

Set your Traeger to 500 degrees and pre-heat with the lid closed for 15 minutes.
While you are waiting for that to heat up, prep your salmon. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Put the salmon skin side down on the sheet and sprinkle it with some of the Traeger Fin & Feather Rub.
In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic, and parsley. Brush the salmon with the mixture, and put the baking sheet in the grill.
Cook until the internal temperature reaches 140˚F (about 20 to 25 minutes) or until the fish flakes easily.
If you want, you can brush it with more of the garlic mixture and add a little lemon to it.

It is honestly so so delicious! We all love it and have it on repeat. And so many of their recipes are just as simple but packed with flavor!! We hope you take this recipe and give it a try at your next Summer BBQ! And if you have a Traeger, we want to know, what is your favorite thing to make?!

3 Back to School Tips To Prep For Distance Learning

We are in the final days and weeks of Back to School prep, and I’m guessing for the majority of us that is looking a lot different this year. Maybe your kids are going back to school full time but fully masked and socially distanced. For some, schools are choosing to do all distance learning. Or maybe you are choosing to go the homeschooling route. But no matter how your “back to school” is looking this year, I think we can all agree it is going to be different. As I’ve prepared myself and my kids for what it looks like for us, I thought it would be helpful to share some tips we are going to try, to help you prep for distance learning in your homes.

:: STICK TO A SCHEDULE

I don’t know about you, but my to do list + calendar are basically my life line. Sticking to a schedule and a routine makes such a difference in my day. I think the same goes for our kids. When they go to traditional school, things are done on basically the same schedule day to day. Not only does it help our brains process and know what to expect, but it helps us not to get too overwhelmed.

When it comes to distance learning, I think treating the day like a normal school day is huge. I’m not saying you need to be teaching your kids for 6 hours a day, but keeping some of the key elements will be so helpful. For example, try to avoid sleeping in later than you would on a normal school day. Have breaks in your learning like “recess”. If it doesn’t feel structured, chances are you and your kids aren’t going to take it as seriously.

:: SET UP LEARNING STATIONS FOR YOUR KIDS

When we first started distance learning back in March, we were kind of all over the place, in survival mode. As the weeks went on, we set up work stations in the office for the kids to do their school and it made all the difference. They were away from distractions and knew that when they were in that space, it was to do school work. This can be a great option for homeschool, distance learning, or even full time students to have a place for homework.

One of the biggest issues we ran into was electronics. Having 3 kids, we didn’t have the computers and electronics needed for them to work at the same time. We didn’t want to invest a crazy amount of money either. A friend of ours recommended we look on eBay and I am SO glad we did. We were able to find great quality like new laptops for each of them to use at close to half the price we thought we would have to spend. You can search specifically for Manufacture Refurbished Laptops, which gives you the peace of mind they were tested + verified by the Manufacture. I love that I am not stressed about them using something brand new that cost a ton, but they still have the resources and technology they need to work. And if it isn’t what you expected you can return it at no cost to you!

:: DON’T FORGET TO FIND THE JOY

Life has been hard lately. The unknown and change is hard on us adults. We need to remember it isn’t easy on our kids either. Things are so different and we need to do our best to bring the joy and happiness in to their daily routine. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, but will be worth it. Have a dance party break for recess! Go on a “field trip” to research something fun like ice cream flavors. Try to bring the joy and happiness they will remember. All of this might not be our top choice, but it is still time we can enjoy and cherish together.

First up, let’s talk everyday fashion favorites. If you know me, you know I am all about having the best basic staples in your closet. Items that are versatile + timeless so they are worth your investment. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is full of great staples this year! Here are my top picks!

– FITTED TEE :

If there is one thing you are going to grab at this years Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, let it be this top. It is definitely in my top 5 favorite items I own and for good reason. I would basically call it the epitome of a staple piece. The sleeve length gives it a more elevated look than your average basic tee. It is perfect for layering because it is super lightweight, thin, and stretchy. I love wearing it under overalls, dresses, jackets, and cardigans because it doesn’t add any bulk. But it also holds its own as a great basic top paired with trouser pants or high waisted jeans. I promise you are going to love it! You can grab it in black or white, or as a bodysuit option too!

– TROUSER PANT :

I grabbed these cute trouser pants at last years Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and am here to tell you they are still one of my very favorites! The fabric is super lightweight and has a little stretch to them so they are ultra comfortable, but the tie waist and tailored fit give them a more feminine flattering fit. You can grab them in this burnt orange color (-my personal fave), black, or a darker teal shade

– LEOPARD FLATS :

Next up are these flats. If you know me, you know I love the leopard trend, but as more of a pop to your outfit. By keeping it as a “bonus” to a more basic/classic outfit, you aren’t committing to being overly trendy and you can wear it in more ways. One of my favorite way is in a fun shoe like these flats. I love the style so so much. First of all they definitely check the comfy box. But at the same time they are such a classic style. They look great with jeans, trouser pants, basically all the things!

– CROSS BODY BAG :

This bag is hands down my favorite accessory from the sale! First off, the size is perfect! Not so big that it is overwhelming and won’t get a lot of use, but big enough that you can hold what you need for date night or running errands. The second reason I love it is the subtle print. It gives it a fun edginess without overtaking your outfit or being too out of control. Both of those combined with the quality of all things Madewell and it is for sure worth grabbing!

If there is one thing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is known for, it is probably all the great deals in cozy favorites. From high end pajamas and slippers to comfy jogger sets and cardigans, you can find all your cozy must haves for Fall. Here are some of my very favorites this year.

– PAJAMA SET :

I know the holidays are still a few months away, but if you are a gift planner, these pajamas need to be on your list. They are the perfect present for moms, mother in laws, and girlfriends. Those women that have everything. Every year I grab a pair in a new color/pattern because they are that good. The material is stretchy and butter soft so they basically feel like a dream!

– SLIPPERS :

Another great gift idea (even for yourself) are these slippers! They are so so cozy! I basically have them on my feet all winter long. The rubber sole on the bottom helps give you a better grip and comfort when walking around, but I promise they are one everyone will love. You can grab them in pink or tan this year.

– JOGGERS + SWEATSHIRT SET :

You know those comfy sets that you never want to take off? The kind that are “technically pajamas” but you rock them all day long? This set is for sure one of those, and another one I grab pretty much every year. I love that the pant is a jogger style so it’s a little more slim fit at the bottom, making the more subtle basic patterns so cute with sneakers. And the top looks just like your everyday sweatshirt you can totally get away with wearing to run errands or whatever, but feels like pajamas. – CURLING IRON :

If you follow me over on Instagram, you probably already know that I have done hair for over 18 years. So to say I’ve tried just about every curling iron out there is not far off! I’ve had this one for years and it is amazing at giving you those perfect curls at a lower heat to keep your hair protected. The barrel size gives you the natural looking curl, and the ceramic keeps things from getting frizzy. It is an investment but one that your hair will definitely thank you for.

– BLOW DRYER :

Another hair must have for me is this blow dryer. I promise you all blow dryers are not created equal. The digital heat setting dries your hair so much faster, helping to protect your hair and eliminate frizz. I love that it’s super lightweight too so your arm doesn’t feel like its going to fall off by the time you’re done. Another great tool worth the investment.

– TANNING MOUSSE :

I love a good sunless tan, but I am here to tell you they are NOT all created equal. If you are ready for the perfect solution to get that natural bronze color (aka not orange!) in a simple to apply process, you need this express mousse. It is my go to and I have tried so many. The application is simple, it gives you the color you want in just 2 hours (or you can leave it longer to get a deeper tan), and it is full proof to avoid streaks. Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: BEST OF WOMEN’S BASICS

One of my very favorite and most anticipated sale of the year is finally here!! Depending on your status with Nordstrom, the Anniversary Sale has started to open for you to shop, with Early Access for all card holders opening next Thursday! For jackets, I have been looking for a blazer and the Women’s sale does not disappoint!! I found 4 super cute options I’m excited to try, including this adorable plaid one and this stretch black classic blazer.

Teen Takeover: Back to School Favorites

Hey Guys! It’s Hunter here for another Teen Takeover. This time I want to talk about all things Back to School. As much as I hate homework, and am not super excited to wear a mask, I am actually so excited to go back to school and kind of feel a little more normal again. One of my favorite things about the end of summer is Back to School shopping! It is so fun to stock up on the latest trends and get some cute new stuff. So below I linked some of the things I am loving or that are on my wish list for Back to School. Click right on the picture to shop.

:: TOPS

I love these tops so much!! I personally love to stick with basic tops I can easily dress up or down or wear with anything. This basic tee from Target comes in all different colors and would go with anything. Another great t-shirt option is Oversized Graphic Tees. They are a fun way to show your personality, and probably my favorite thing to wear right now. I also chose some cute comfy hoodies. Sometimes when I don’t feel like getting ready for school, I just wear a hoodie! It can still be a cute comfy look without a lot of effort.

:: BOTTOMS

I keep it pretty simple for my favorite bottoms too, sticking to 3 categories. Leggings, distressed jeans, and denim skirts. First up is leggings. I love to pair them with a cute oversized graphic tee or hoodie for a cute so comfy casual look for school. Second is distressed jeans. Ripped jeans, especially in the mom jean style have always been my favorite. They are so cute and I love that they are not super tight or baggie. The last thing I chose for bottoms was a denim skirt. I love wearing these when I just want to feel a little more ready and more dressed up but not too much. You could dress it up with a more fitted basic top or go more casual with the graphic tee again.

:: SHOES

I have my eye on two pairs of shoes this year for Back to School. The first pair are these Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. They are so cute and come in so many colors I love! The second pair are these Blair Sandals. They are such a cute trendy sandal. I love that both of these shoes go with every thing and are just very simple, stylish, and cute shoes to wear anywhere!

:: ACCESSORIES

Last but not least, you’ve gotta have accessories for Back to School! My favorites are for sure these Puravida Bracelets. I love that they have so many cute colors and styles to fit your personality. At the top of my wishlist for Back to School is one of these backpacks too. They are SO cute and come in almost 20 different colors! I love the look of them! And although it definitely won’t be my favorite back to school accessory, these masks are my favorite fit. The material is soft and they plain black and a couple cute patterns.

If there is one “product” I recommend people to use after having babies, it is these magical shorts. Not only are they great to help you feel more sucked in post baby, but they help so much with supporting your body as you gain that muscle and strength back post baby. This bra is SO popular too and always sells out fast in the sale!

These earrings are identical to the pair I wear everyday and absolutely love. Such a great classic versatile pair. I practically live in this hat when we go on beach vacations. It is so lightweight and easy to pack, but can be dressed up or down easily too!

One of my very favorite sections of the sale to shop is kids. The timing usually lines up great with Back to School shopping! I love stocking up on basics they can wear all year long! I got these leggings for my girls last year and we LOVE them, I will be getting again in a bigger size. And tops like this ribbed long sleeve are perfect to dress up or down. First up let’s talk skincare. If you follow me over on Instagram, you know that I stick to my tried and true products for years and years, so I was so happy to see a few of them featured in this years Beauty lineup. One of my all time “made for me” kits from Tula, the PMD Microderm and Clean I swear by, as well as the glo pro microneedling set I love. And I couldn’t do this beauty post and not include my all time favorite tanning brand. They have not one but two of their solutions at killer prices!! The classic mousse which I’ve used for years, and my new favorite the express mousse. It gives you such a great color and is so easy to apply. You can read more about why I love it here.

I have done hair for almost 20 years now, so you could say my taste in products is a little on the particular side.
