More home and how to pick out the right items for your home? More beauty, fashion or sales?! Or hair…did you even know I’m a hairstylist and have done hair for the past 16 years?!! Let me know in the comments below because we really want to know.
Honestly from the bottom of my heart thank you for all your love and support! Your comments, emails and sweet messages/dm’s mean so much and the friendships my little family and I have made here are priceless!! We are so glad your here!!
Time seems to be flying by and 2018 is here! I can’t even believe it! I swear I remember all the crazy Y2K worries and here we are 18 years later! My favorite thing about a new year is a fresh start. To me it is like getting a clean slate. With the fresh start always seems to be the addition of goals for the year. I love sitting down with a notebook and planning out a few things I want to focus on for the year.I love hearing goals other people have because they usually spark ideas for me as well, so I thought I’d share this years top 4!
…Wake Up Before My Little People + Get Ready for the Day
This may seem like a simple goal, but it is something that makes a huge difference in my day. It has always been something I really try to do, but since the move + all the crazy that comes along with it I have gotten out of the habit. I find that when I wake up even just an hour earlier than my people, I have time for so much. If I can get dressed + put together which always has me feeling more productive the rest of the day. I can take the time to look over my schedule for both work and family life and know what the day holds. That simple extra hour or so can turn my whole day around.
…Do Something Physical 3 Times A Week
I know I know, this is such a cliche goal. Just about everyone out there makes a goal to workout in the new year. I’ve been trying to make this a habit since we moved to Utah. Instead of listing a specific amount of time I am going to spend in the gym, my goal is to do something physical. With the stage my family is in, our lives are busy. The gym is not always doable, but I know being active is something my body needs. So some days it may be playing at the park with my people. Some days might be going on a walk as a family. As long as my body is up + moving and heading in the direction of regular exercise, I’m happy.
…Read My Scriptures Daily
This is another huge factor in starting my day off with the right mindset. When I take the time to stop + focus on reading for even 10 minutes, my day always seems to go better. It helps me start the day with a more positive outlook. It seems to clear my head from all the unnecessary stresses. I know not all of you have a religion you follow. This same idea could be applied with reading or meditation too.
…Be Present
As much as I love + rely on my phone for my job, it is a huge distraction in my life. More often than I’d like to admit, I find myself half listening to my little people while I’m trying to finish up something on my phone. I love staying connected to friends + family and my Instagram community. But being present and 100% there for my people is so much more important. Scheduling work requirements during naps and when my big people are at school so I’m ready to mom when they are there is probably my biggest goal this year. They are growing faster than I can handle and I don’t want to miss a second of it because I’m glued to a screen.
For me, my goals are about small achievable improvements. Things that will help me to be a better mom, wife, and friend. I don’t do things that put too much stress or pressure on me, because who needs more stress?! A few of this years goals are even ones I’ve had in the past, but know they are things that could still use work, so I carry them over. So I wanna know, what are some of your goals for 2018?!
Happy 2018!! I thoughts I’d share my favorite posts from 2017 + a few thoughts with you all. I hope you all had the best week with the ones you love most! This time of year always has me thinking about how incredibly grateful for I am for what I have been blessed with. My family and the opportunity to be in this new home together that we have dreamed of is the best present I could’ve ever asked for. But right at the top of the list as well is you guys. I am so grateful for your support.
When I started the blog a few years ago, I had no idea what to expect. To go from owning a couple of different baby lines, to deciding to step away and do something on my own was hard for me. I had always had a blog for the family connection, so I decided why not take the leap and share my love of family + fashion with the online world. The response has been more than I could’ve ever dreamed of. I love the community we have created. I can honestly say I think of you all as a big group of girlfriends!
You have been with me through alllll the ups and downs. You have been there with support and love through the hard times. I felt like I had so many shoulders to cry on as we went through our miscarriages and I shared my feelings here. The love, prayers, and advice meant so much.
When life gets frustrating and I just need to vent, you’ve listened and brought a smile to my face. Your messages + comments saying you totally get it or have been there too make a baby blow out, a messy house, or ordering take out again not feel like the end of the world.
Probably my most favorite thing about this space is the sense of community. It is not just me here sharing all my thoughts and doing all the talking. I love knowing that I can put these things out there, and you are always there with advice + opinions. My favorite example from this year is when I asked you for your favorite Greek Yogurt flavors and I got over 400 Direct Messages in 2 hours!! hahaha! That completely made my day because it shows you are here for the friendship and connection too.
So thank you so much. Thank you being here. Thank you for your friendship + your feedback. I hope you had a holiday! I can’t wait to see what this next year brings for us here in this space!
I hope you all had such a Merry Christmas! It was so special to be together as a family in our new home! We are currently still in the no schedule + pj’s all day mode and couldn’t love it more! With the craziness of the holidays + kind of taking a break from the online world, I got a little behind on my direct messages + link requests! I’ve tried to include all the most asked links here, as well as some awesome after holiday sales happening this weekend! Be sure to check out my favorites I rounded up from the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale too!

Welcome back everyone!! It’s been awhile but it’s been a nice break to spend some extra time with my people. Today I’m sharing a bunch of my favorite planners + after Christmas sales with you all!!
It’s no secret that I am a little OCD. I like things clean + organized and kind of feel like I can’t function when they aren’t! My schedule is no exception! Finding a new planner to start fresh again is one of my favorite parts of the new year. I’m the first to admit with life being so crazy if it isn’t written down, it isn’t going to happen! I know there are a million different calendars + to do lists you can use on your phone. And trust me, I use a few there too. Also there is just something about physically writing tasks and schedules down that works better for me! So with that being said, below are a bunch of my favorite planners I’ve found for this coming year!
This year for New Years Eve we are keeping things pretty simple. In the past we have loved getting together as a family with friends or even planning a date night. In addition to all the craziness with moving, we just want to keep things simple this year. It will probably consist of lots of board games, treats, and movies! To be honest, that is just the way I like it! New Years Eve comes with such a variety of options for things to do. With that in mind, I put together a three of my favorite outfits that would make perfect New Years Eve looks for any event or party.
From a fancy sparkly outfit, to a go to little black dress I LOVE, and of course a classic jeans + tee with my favorite jacket. I hope you’ll find something that will work perfect to help you ring in the New Year!
We are officially in the new house and could not be more excited! It is the best Christmas present we could’ve asked for! As I’ve mentioned here before, we planned on being in the house a lot sooner than how it turned out. With the idea of having family over and spending Thanksgiving + Christmas in our new home, I had big plans for our Christmas Decor!
The first thing I had planned was a new tree in our main room, with all new Christmas decor. I planned on having a beautiful wreath and decorating the banister and mantle to coordinate. I was so excited to have the kids decorate their own tree down in the basement however they wanted. Butttt as you all know, life happens, and things don’t always go according to plan. Moving in just a couple weeks before Christmas had our lives instantly crazy town, and Christmas Decor was put on the back burner.
The more I unpacked, I just kept thinking of the tree. It did not feel like Christmas in our home without it, but I knew I could not add decorating to my never ending to do list. I had already purchased most of the items for my tree from Gatehouse + loved their displays. I went against my usual ways and hired someone to come and help. You guys I could not be happier with how it turned out! Two of their designers came out to the house + I fell in love with both of them! It took them about 3 hours to do both the tree and mantle. They listened to my input of simple + modern and made my vision come to life. It is quite possibly the best money I’ve ever spent and am thinking about doing it next year too!
Our decor turned out super simple, but we love it! It may not be the big dreams I had in mind, but like everything with Christmas, it really is the simple things that matter. Just having a tree was something to bring the holidays in to our crazy life of boxes and unpacking. We have spent just about every night snuggled up next to it reading Christmas books. While things didn’t go according to plans, I couldn’t be happier.
It has been a whirlwind week full of unpacking, but I finally feel like we are getting our heads above the boxes! Somehow I always seem to block out of my mind how stressful and time consuming moving is. If you are anything like me, days like this totally require the ultimate comfy clothes! I won’t even tell you how many consecutive days I didn’t get ready! Since they have been my go to, and really all you’ve seen me in over on Instagram, I had to share all my comfy favorites!
SLIPPERS …
I am a St. George/ California girl, so I was not prepared for real winter. It hasn’t even snowed here yet, but I’m still over here freezing! One thing that I can’t stand being cold is my feet. My solution is these super comfy slippers! The inside is so warm and soft, they seriously feel like walking on a cloud! They come in the cutest colors too! I have been rocking them so often I’m snagging another pair for myself for Christmas!
ROBE…
My mom is going to die when she sees this. She can’t stand me always wearing my robe, but you guys they are my favorite!! I at least upgraded from the one I’ve had for years she is always trying to hide from me, to this cute one! I love that they keep me warm, and feel like I’m wearing a big cozy blanket. They’re so comfortable when I’m snuggling the babies on the couch or working from home! I have no shame in my robe game! If it were socially acceptable it would probably become a staple piece in my wardrobe!
JOGGERS…
It’s no secret joggers are one of my comfy favorites! They are my go to for when I want to be comfy, but also need to look a little more put together + like I managed to get dressed for the day. I love that they give you the more fitted look, and can easily be dressed up a little.
I fully plan on sticking to my comfy favorites throughout as much of Christmas break as I can get away with! So I wanna know, what are you go to comfy picks?! Cause you know you can never have enough!
Our little Harper girl is growing up faster than I can even stand and she is officially 11 months! Somehow time with all the house things seemed to drag by, yet her time here with us has flown by!! Talk about not one bit fair! I don’t know if its just because I know she is my last little babe, but it is completely breaking my heart. I have had a few good cries about it in the last month because I’m just not ready for any of my people to grow up! Since I can’t seem to stop that, I wanted to at least do an 11 month update to share whats new with our sweet Harper girl.
Loves pulling herself up, so she is always walking around the room holding on to baby strollers or walking toys.
Is wearing mostly size 18-24 month clothes and size 3, almost 4 diapers. She is only weighs 5 pounds less than Houston so I’m sure she will pass him up in no time! She is our chubby girl + I am obsessed with it!
Has 6 teeth and is working on 2 more right now. SO I’m sure you can imagine the teething fun!
With the move she is finallllly getting a chance to sleep in a crib for the first time and has been doing so well with the transition!
SWEET THINGS I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW…
She has the sweetest little growl that we all die over. I think she knows her brothers + sisters think its hilarious.
Her little personality has been showing more and more. She is almost always happy and loves when all the peoples attention is on her. She still has a little bashful side which is totally adorable too.
We can’t wait to experience her First Christmas together as a family in our new home. We are feeling beyond blessed + so grateful, and just trying to enjoy every second before they all grow up! xx
When we packed up all of our stuff to move from California to Utah, I realized we had way too much. After donating a lot I decided it was time to simplify things! I was tired of buying toys that don’t last or grow with my kids. Joe and I really wanted to focus more on meaningful things that will create memories with the little people. With that in mind, we made a plan for birthdays this year, and took it to one of the main sources of toys + presents…nana + papa!
Instead of buying more toys or things they’d quickly lose interest in, we asked them to focus on gifting experiences. Something that would be more meaningful. Like any grandparents, they want as much time with their grandkids as possible, so they were easily on board!
Each of the little people got to plan their own day with their Nana + Papa. The amount of excitement that went in to planning their individual days was crazy. Hunter wanted nothing more than the one on one time with them. Being the oldest she doesn’t always get that, so she loved her day! She chose to go to the aquarium, dinner, and shopping for some new chokers. Hudson was all about the adventure of choosing anything. He chose to go indoor skydiving! And then there is Hayden. Her number one wish was to get ice cream and not have to share with anyone! Sounds like she has learned something from her mom!
As you can see these were such simple days, but they were so meaningful to my people. They have not stopped talking about it + are already making lists of ideas for next year! My mom and dad loved it so much they are going to do it for Christmas this year too! Do you have any out of the box gift ideas? I’d love to hear! xx
It is time for another update and we have some good news…WE ARE IN!!! Oh my gosh you guys, I can’t even tell you how exciting it is to be able to finally say that! If you follow me over on Instagram, you’ve seen a few sneak peeks. I was overwhelmed with the positive feedback + hundreds of questions on our flooring, so I am sharing all the details here today!
As I mentioned a few months ago on Instagram, we did tile in the kitchen and bathrooms upstairs. We went back and forth repeatedly trying to decide if we should carry it in to the basement. After talking to local friends + hearing from lots of you, we decided to do a wood downstairs since tile is so cold in basements.
When we started looking for woods, I had an exact color in mind. I wanted it to be light and bright, but not read too yellow. I immediately noticed that all of my favorites were from the same company, Hallmark Floors. Once I started working with them, I knew I’d find just the right one. They actually ended up having a few I fell in love with and it made deciding so hard!
When I told them I just needed to see it in the space, they put me in connection with a local dealer, Jeff from Specialty Carpets. You guys…if you are building in Utah you have got to call him. Jeff was amazing!! He brought all of the samples that fit the style I mentioned to the house so I could see them in the space. He was so patient and answered my millions of questions.
We ended up going with Alta Vista in Laguna Oak. We love the color! Going with a natural product that was timeless and would last with the proper care was so important to us. It turned out just how I pictured, and I love how it keeps the basement light and bright.
We are so excited to finally be in the house! It is amazing to see all my visions come to life and I really couldn’t have done it without our designer Ashley. She has been incredible to work with and I highly recommend her. She took my vision for a few rooms in the house and totally turned them in to a reality. I can’t wait to start sharing more details with you so stay tuned! Also if you have any questions at all feel free to leave them in the comments and I will try and answer them all!!
It is move in day!!! I honestly can’t believe it is here. It’s crazy, exciting and overwhelming all at the same time. We still have a long ways to go as we don’t have carpet, garages, and a bunch or our cabinets are not done, but this seemed to be the only weekend that Joe had off. And honestly I (we all) didn’t want to wait one more second to move in. The next few weeks are going to be a mess of finishing up projects before Christmas but it’s all okay. Spending Christmas in our new home together will make up for everything!
I’m sharing some of the outfit details that didn’t make it to the blog – along with all the joggers and sweats because I haven’t put on real pants for over a week! haha. Also, I rounded up the best sales from the weekend and linked to all the gift guides I’ve shared so far to help with any last minute gift ideas. xx
